IRCTC Train Booking
Train reservations booked through the IRCTC authorised agent channel, where the network holds the principal agency and counters operate as registered sub-agents beneath it. That structure is the whole point: a counter can issue a genuine reserved ticket with a real PNR without holding its own IRCTC licence, and the ticket is valid exactly as one booked on the IRCTC site.
What you get
- Reserved bookings with a genuine PNR, valid for travel and for TTE checking
- Counters operate as registered sub-agents under the network principal agency
- Live availability, fare and waitlist position before booking
- Tatkal booking within the IRCTC rules and opening windows
- Cancellation and TDR filing tracked against the original booking
- Refunds credited back to the wallet the booking was funded from
How it works
- 1Register the sub-agentThe counter is registered as a sub-agent under the principal agency and mapped to the IRCTC agent credentials. This is a one-time onboarding, not a per-booking step.
- 2Search and holdLive availability and fare come from IRCTC. The operator confirms train, class, quota and passenger details with the customer before committing.
- 3Book against the walletThe fare plus applicable charges is debited from the counter wallet and the PNR is returned. The ticket is issued in the passenger name, not the agent name.
- 4Cancel or file a TDRCancellations go through IRCTC rules; a ticket that cannot be cancelled normally is handled by filing a TDR, which the railway adjudicates on its own timeline.
FAQ
About irctc train booking
Does the counter need its own IRCTC agent licence?
No. That is what the sub-agent model is for. The principal agency holds the IRCTC authorisation and registers the counter beneath it, so the counter can issue reserved tickets without applying for and maintaining its own licence.
How long does a cancellation refund take to come back?
Cancellation refunds follow railway rules and railway timelines, and a TDR case is decided by the railway rather than by us. We track the case against the original booking and credit the wallet when the refund lands, but the timeline is not ours to promise.
